For the most up to date information about vacant teaching positions and hiring, it is important to contact the school board offices directly. 

Prospective teachers interested in teaching in the Northwest Territories are encouraged to use a variety of methods to apply for work.  Each school board office has their preferred method of reviewing teacher applications.  All three methods listed below are recommended.

1.  Please submit an online application on the Education Canada - NWT website to ensure your application is in the general online  application pool. 

2.  Mail a copy of your cover letter and resume to each of the school board offices where you would like to work.    

3.  Consult the Education Canada Network site for current job postings in each of the 8 school jurisdictions in the NWT and submit an application for each competition for which you would like to be considered.  Fax your resume to that school board office as well, to ensure your resume is included in the competition.

4.  The application form for an NWT Teaching Certificate can be downloaded and printed for your convenience.  Applications should be completed and submitted only after a formal job offer has been received.
